Police: Man thrown 45 feet off bridge after trying to intervene in couple's fight

Police in Connecticut arrested two males and a lady Tuesday in reference to an incident Thanksgiving morning through which a person was thrown off a bridge close to Shelton, in line with a press launch.

Gregory Rottjer, 25, of Derby, was charged with legal try and commit homicide, first-diploma assault and reckless endangerment. Matthew Dorso, 27, of Ansonia, was charged with third-diploma assault whereas Jennifer Hannum, 22, of Derby, was charged with interfering with an officer, the discharge stated.

An in depth investigation revealed Rottjer was having a verbal argument together with his girlfriend, Hannum, whereas strolling over the bridge, police stated. The sufferer and his brother tried to see if the feminine was protected after which tried to stroll away, the discharge said.

Nevertheless, Rottjer and his pal, Dorso, then allegedly began a bodily struggle with the sufferer and his brother. In the course of the battle, Rottjer is accused of deliberately throwing the sufferer over the bridge. The sufferer, a 30-yr-previous man from Monroe, fell roughly forty five ft under into the icy water and was rescued by police. Rottjer and Dorso, police stated, fled the scene with Hannum. Through the investigation, Hannum was allegedly decided to be untruthful with detectives, the discharge stated.

Rottjer was held in lieu of $250,000 bail and issued a courtroom date of Tuesday. Dorso was launched on a promise to seem whereas Hannum was launched on $1,000 bail. Each have been issued a courtroom date of Dec. 22.
